Transformer Move

Washington to Oregon
​AST provided complete project management, transportation and installation of two transformers delivered to Eastern Oregon. The units arrived at the Port of Seattle where we began our work to move them from port to pad. The transformers weighed 238,000 pounds each and required a floating crane or derrick barge to lift them out of the vessel's hold.  The units were then barged to the dock where they were placed on trailers for transport. Travel restrictions required us to move these transformers at night until clear of the city of Seattle. The transformers were trucked to the wind farm where they were unloaded by crane and set onto their foundations.

AST provided transportation of this transformer from Long Beach, CA to Hays, KS. The transformer weighed 130,000 pounds. The unit was discharged directly from the ship onto our trailer for transport. We successfully delivered this unit in three days where it was placed onto it's foundation for installation.

Southern California to Northern California
AST provided complete project management and transportation for this transformer from Long Beach, CA to Weed, CA. The transformer weighed 100,000 pounds. The unit was discharged directly from the ship onto our trailer for transport.  We successfully delivered this unit in three days where it was unloaded by our crane for temporary storage. We later returned to the jobsite to move the unit out of storage and transport it to the substation and crane it onto the substation pad.

Transformer Moves

California to Utah
AST provided complete project management and transportation for three transformers from Long Beach, CA to Salt Lake City, UT. The transformers weighed 105,000 pounds each and were all loaded at the port on the same day. The units were discharged directly from the ship onto our trailers for transport. We successfully delivered these units in three days where they were unloaded by our crane for storage in the customer's yard.

​AST provided transportation for this dredge and its tender and power unit from Windsor, CA to Rome, GA. The dredge weighed just under 100,000 pounds and was 52 foot long.
